Bicycle tour in Upper Lusatia

Sorbian Sights in Upper Lusatia (approx. 250 km)

To enjoy this tour, simply follow the Sorbian lime tree leaf symbol.

This cycle tour to the north of Bautzen runs from the village of Wartha by the Olbasee lake to the town of Panschwirt-Kuckau and takes cyclists on a round trip from Wartha to the town of Weißenberg and back up to Wartha, offering them the perfect opportunity to get to know Sorbian culture in Upper Lusatia. Its signs all feature the lime tree leaf symbol in the colours of the Sorbian/Wendish flag: blue (módry), red (čerwjeny) and white (běły). Museums and local heritage collections provide an authentic insight into the lives of earlier generations and reveal interesting facts on traditions, customs and traditional dress. Some local craftsmen and women are also happy to let you take a peek at their work, while various monuments provide more information on well-known Sorbian figures.

You can find a map and description (in German) of the tour here.
